“It wasn’t the start we wanted, for sure,” said Huskies head coach Brandin Cote. “I thought the first 10 minutes of the first period and the first 10 minutes of the second period weren’t great. When you’re pressing, we had lots of chances, hit a few posts but probably didn’t earn it enough just by the way the game went at the start.”Article content
Jordan Kooy was outstanding in Saskatchewan’s net with his best game yet as a Huskie, making 28 quality saves, but he never got any goal-scoring support. “Jordan played well, but you’re not going to win when you don’t score,” said Cote. “We’re missing some pieces on offence, for sure, but we have to find ways to step up and score ugly.”
Jordan Sandhu scored the lone goal in the game for UBC, which outshot Saskatchewan 14-6 in the opening frame and 29-27 overall.The Huskies, who were 0-for-3 on the power play, slipped to 12-5-4. The T-Birds improved to 11-6-2.The Huskies have added former Blades defencemanfor the second term. Rhinehart did not play Friday as he awaits his official release.
