Backgrounder notes Bryan Kohberger had been taking, and more recently teaching, courses in criminology since graduating from community college in 2018.

On Saturday, Kohberger’s attorney, Monroe County Chief Public Defender Jason LaBar, said his client plans to waive his Tuesday extradition hearing and return to Idaho to face the charges.

“At the time it seemed as if he was just a curious student, so if his questions felt odd we didn’t think much of it because it fit our curriculum,” The Times quoted fellow DeSales student Brittany Slaven, who took several classes with Kohberger, as saying.
