The company went on to isolate the BRCA1 breast-cancer gene and became a leader in developing tests to assess individuals’ cancer risks. So sad. Pete was a great guy to work with. I was with Ciba-Geigy Pharma in the 90s, and we had a collaboration on the genetics of heart disease with Myriad.
