An earlier study found participants who had ketamine combined with therapy stayed completely sober, representing 86% abstinence in their six month follow-up. It is also used as a recreational drug and is classified as a Class B banned substance by the Home Office. The University of Exeter is leading the trial into the use of ketamineHalf will be given ketamine at the dose used in the first clinical trial with psychological therapy.

How's the 'war on drugs' in UK is going? Not too bad I see...

Already happening in Birkenhead lad.

'seven NHS sites across the UK'...one is definitely needed in Croydon...100%...👍

That's good 👍

Ridiculous, we have people suffering from ketamine addiction. We need more rehabs and services for people who are suffering from addiction not giving the more drugs.

The Ket trial will knock em out so they don't drink

I’m pleased to see that as a country we are actually doing something to help a section of society who widely get ignored, judged or mocked. Alcoholism is real, it is deadly and it destroys the lives of the sufferer and their loved ones. So IF research can be done to help GOOD

The government are the biggest drug dealers on the planet codeine, valium and anti-psychotics are the most addictive drugs out there

Just what an alcoholic needs. A horse Tranquilizer . They’ll be partying in the streets of Glasgow that’s for sure 🥳

Seems sinister to me this. It is the UK after all.

Ever seen a drunk person on ketamine? Bout the only safe place for them is a bouncy castle

Is there a trial for disabled people and people in chronic pain to try ketamine?

Any ere for the weekend

Right. Put them in a K hole so they can't get up and buy drink. Makes total sense 👍

And if that doesn't work, meth.

What? 😳🙄 Yeah thats sensible, give another addictive substance to an addict. Who's coming up with these ridiculous ideas? Addiction is about stopping it not adding another issue onto an already existing problem. The person behind this is about as bright as a blackout! 🙄

Result 💪🏼

I'm an alcoholic.................

LEGALISE CANNABIS FFS. TRANQUIL HORSES MUCH ?

So I need become an alcoholic first to get my hands on some ket. I graciously accept the challenge.

AA if you want it bad enough.

I’ve done both, both make you wobbly

AdamDunovsky is alcoholic. He would like volunteers. I may come as well

That's the last thing they need 😂
