The Education Ministry said in a statement on Saturday that the decision to push the school session from March 12 and March 13 2023 is to ensure that the SPM examination can be carried out smoothly.
It added that the Regulations state that the number of school days in the academic calendar must not be less than 190 days. “The ministry is of the view that this can be implemented by gradually shortening school holidays starting from 2023 until 2026 with compliance with the number of school days in the academic calendar,” said the ministry.
