Anne Kang moves to municipal affairs, but Jennifer Whiteside is no longer the minister of education.

Burnaby-Deer Lake MLA Anne Kang and New Westminster MLA Jennifer Whiteside both have new portfolios after B.C. Premier David Eby's cabinet announcement.

"British Columbia is a wonderful place to live, but people are looking for action on the issues facing them and their families," Eby said in a news release after his cabinet was sworn in today . Chen said she was stepping away from a ministry role due to long-term trauma and wanting to spend more time with her son.

"The long-standing trauma has continued to impact my life, even as I dedicated my time to my work in cabinet to deliver progress on child care for B.C. families. I am incredibly proud of my journey. As an immigrant, I have represented our community in the legislature, and have worked with my colleagues to start up the first social program in a generation.
