The move to consider a ban on Ye's music comes in the wake of the artist's blatant support for Hitler, Nazis, and Balenciaga, along with his recent slew of antisemitic remarks.UT's student government passed a resolution last month calling on the school's administration to ban Ye's music to show support for the school's Jewish community, per the university's student-run newspaper.
"Football and sports is something that brings us all together," university-wide representative Alexander Feinstein said."We should all feel safe there, and we should all feel that it’s a comforting place."An official decision by the university pertaining to the student resolution has yet to be released.
UTAustin “Considering” is just so they can virtue-single their wokeness. If they weren’t, they’d just stop playing his music and that would be that. But NOOOOOOO they have to make sure WE ALL know how wonderful they are. Pathetic.
UTAustin Give him the right to sing / speak out
UTAustin Ukraine Nazis still gud tho
UTAustin The Man is sick bad sick cut him some slack don't pile on virtue signaling
UTAustin He does spill a lot of Truth
UTAustin The more you ban someone, the more you drive people to them. It becomes an underground following. Simple economics will correct this. Stop running news stories about banning him. You are making him a martyr. Opposite effect.
UTAustin Did they ban R Kelly? Michael Jackson?
UTAustin UT Austin considers men women so...there's that
UTAustin Nazi Ye will not be happy 🤷♂️
