Two female University of Saskatchewan engineering graduates reflect on the sexism that still exists 33 years after the Montreal Massacre.

In 1999, in commemorating the 10th

Women make up only 14 per cent of practising engineering professionals in Canada. How can we change this? We need allies to stand with us in solidarity and push for equitable systems and policies that remove barriers to make workplaces better for everyone. Speaking up about sexism is not easy — for women, it can be especially risky. Studies have shown that straight, white, able-bodied men who speak up for others face less personal risk to their careers.
