Mohammed Anwar left a pedestrian with permanent disfigurement and impairment after striking him at high speed.

A former computing teacher has had his appeal to re-register denied by the General Teaching Council after he was involved in a hit-and-run in Glasgow.

A day prior to the hearing, which took place on November 1 this year, Mr Anwar emailed the Servicing Officer: "Is it possible to do the Hearing on next Tuesday rather than tomorrow. Next I will be free all day." The panel concluded that the former teacher was 'not fit to teach' due to his lack of remorse and regard for the seriousness of the 2015 incident.
