ICYMI: LETTER: Better living conditions needed for international students at Cape Breton University | SaltWire

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THESE SALTWIRE VIDEOS

Another good friend, Brenda, took in a student for several months who had no place to live. When the student found other accommodations he moved out, but within a month Brenda went to the student’s new address and took him back to her house because of the deplorable conditions the student faced where he lived.

A little fact checking led me to an article that the CBC’s Fifth Estate recently wrote on this issue. It was heartbreaking to learn what these international students’ parents and families are doing back home to send these young people here for an education. My question is just how much in additional tuition fees is CBU making on the backs of these students only to send some of them to the Cineplex for classes and leave them frantically trying to find decent living accommodations.
