If this kid had a cap on, the ref shouldn’t have done what he did. If his hair was loose, the ref should have told him to borrow a cap. Only if there wasn’t a single cap in the entire building, then give him the horrible choice.

All well and good but the student is scarred for life. He not only was made to feel less than by a referee but his teammates and coach too. If I was his coach I would have told him absolutely NOT!
