The family of a high school student has filed a lawsuit against the Antelope Valley Union High School District after he fell out of the bed of a moving pickup truck in a campus parking lot and died.
"Jonathan died as the result of the school district's negligence," the family's attorney, Michael Carrillo, said at a news conference. Carrillo released cellphone video to Eyewitness News that shows a speeding motorcycle in the parking lot, as well as someone performing a wheelie on a motorcycle. A truck is seen burning rubber in the parking lot.
So he was on the bed of the truck, willingly? Hmmm
So the kid rides in the back of a pickup, falls out, and it’s the schools fault?!? I. Don’t. Get. It.
The kid made a bad decision, the parents should be using it as an example to save others. This is why there is no $$$ for education, parents that can't accept their child did something, not the school.
Kid made a bad decision. Rip. But not the school's fault
We need a simple law 'if you are injured or killed while breaking the law you can't sue ANYONE' call your reps, demand this simple legislation.
Tragic but they have no lawsuit. We can’t legislate stupidity.
There’s ALWAYS an Atty out there that will take frivolous cases…ALWAYS
pathetic $$ grab but what else could you expect ?
How is that the schools fault.
