Frank R. Walaitis, 57, of the 200 block of West Main Street, faces six counts of felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse for incidents that occurred between December 2008 and July 2022, according to the state’s attorney’s report. Both children were under the age of 13.The abuse occurred at The Learning Tree at 2325 Royal Blvd., one of two locations in Elgin.
Walaitis “held a position of trust, authority and supervision over the children” at the center, where the abuse occurred and where he was the victims’ teacher, the report said.He is being held in the Kane County jail in lieu of $200,000 bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 8. The Kane County Child Advocacy Center investigated the case with assistance from the Elgin Police Department.
