Between the 2002-03 school year and the 2021-22 school year, student enrollment only rose by 1,029 students from 1,997,479 students to 1,998,508. Total staffing levels, though, rose by 46,369 from 182,486 education workers to 228,855.Broken down by types of workers, the number of teachers increased by 16,968 from 116,040 to 133,008. The number of principals and vice-principals rose from 7,371 to 7,810. The general group labelled education workers increased by 49% from 59,075 to 88,037.
