can't stand stanford, but this is a frivolous attempt to money grab. go after the criminal SBF's Dem-connected parents, and stop with this distraction

Tragic. Having read the article, I hope the family wins in court. Especially if there were no repercussions for the man who committed sexual assault. So sorry for the family's loss.

Tragic death. Frivolous lawsuit. Sounds like she needed some guidance and assistance with coping and distress tolerance, but the university is not responsible because she could not tolerate potential disciplinary action.

Lol how does a suicide equate to a 'wrongful death' ?

I support Katie Meyer’s family. A rich institution like Stanford should do more suestanford

🥲

YUP! Lets blame anyone and everyone rather then accept the facts, was tragic. Guess the question, where were you as parents?

According to the article, a counseling number was provided to the student and the counseling was provided to her at any time. Based on what is provided, it is difficult to see where the univ is at fault.

11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.Romans 5 The joy and peace the world and lost ppl are looking for is only found in Jesus Christ by being born agian of the Holy Spirit.

You cannot go around deliberately spilling coffee on people you don’t like as Katie Meyer did at Stanford - the school acted appropriately in punishing her. Her suicide was related to underlying mental illness, not Stanford.

This wasn’t clumsiness at all. She spilled coffee on the guy on purpose. This is a stupid lawsuit.

Sadly the parents need to blame someone else is probably at the root of Katie’s inability to handle a crisis. Parents fixing problems doesn’t make kids stronger it makes them dependent and weak!

This woman’s death is tragic. With that said, a white woman assaults a black man by throwing hot coffee on him in response to an unproven accusation of sexual assault. So todays lynch mobs use hot coffee. Wow! Must be great to be a white woman.

She wasn’t exactly defending her teammate, this was a bit later and i get why’d she want to “spill” coffee on him. Bt really, withholding her diploma and expelling her frm d university for that Seems d punishment they threatened certainly didn’t fit d crime if it was intentional

Money grap

Wait… it’s the schools fault because she spilled coffee on a dude she felt deserved it and she was going to get reprimanded for her own actions? What world do we live in now this stuff is acceptable.

Sad what grief does making a family become greedy like this. Suicide was HER choice. Not stanfords fault she can’t handle consequences. Sad but that’s reality.

Will you answer me!

I don’t know who needs to hear this but quite literally the only person responsible for suicide is the individual who CHOSE to do it.

Parents of ex-Stanford goalie Katie Meyer sue university for wrongful deathThe parents of Katie Meyer, the former Stanford soccer goalkeeper who killed herself in February, have sued the university for wrongful death. No one commits suicide because they got an email absent depression. She was depressed. The family can’t accept that. No surprise. I was depressed for 10 years. Parents never want to see that in their child. They’ll blame everything and everyone to absolve their guilt. Parents still don’t get it.
