Trinity coach Julie Jenkins wrapped up her 38th season with more than 1,000 career wins.

Trinity volleyball fell one match short of a national title, losing 3-0 to Juniata College in the NCAA Division III championship final Saturday in Pittsburgh.

The Tigers were playing in the national final for the second time in school history, also finishing as the national runner-up in 1999. Juniata cruised through the first two sets 25-17 and 25-11 before a tight final set. With Juniata leading 24-20, Trinity senior Sara Flynn fought off championship point with three straight kills before Juniata put the match away 25-23.

Flynn notched eight kills, while senior Sarah Williammee and freshman Reagan Whatley each had five. Senior Marisa Amarino recorded 13 assists, and sophomore Trinity Herrera had 11. Williammee and Amarino were both named to the NCAA All-Tournament team. Trinity coach Julie Jenkins wrapped up her 38th season with more than 1,000 career wins, guiding the program to the NCAA playoffs 27 times.
