Six Cape Breton high school soccer teams will participate in School Sport Nova Scotia provincial championship tournaments this weekend. KEITH GOSSE/SALTWIRE NETWORK.NEW WATERFORD — Six Cape Breton high school soccer teams will be on the pitch this weekend for School Sport Nova Scotia provincial championships, including two tournaments being held in Cape Breton.The host team will take to the field Friday at 1 p.m. when they play Northeast Kings Education Centre of Canning.
Meanwhile, Cape Breton Highlands Education Centre/Academy will host the Division 3 boys' provincial championship in Margaree Harbour. The field is located beside the school at 11070 Cabot Trail. Breton Education Centre will also be represented in the Division 2 boys' tournament, hosted by Halifax Grammar School at Harbour East Field No. 1 in Burnside. BEC will play Island View High School of Eastern Passage in the semifinal at 2:30 p.m. Friday. The bronze medal and championship games are slated for 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday.
Baddeck Academy will play New Germany at 12 p.m. Friday, while Cape Breton Highlands Education Centre/Academy will face the host Sacred Heart in their semifinal game at 2:30 p.m. Those games will be played at Harbour East Field No. 2. The bronze medal and championship games are slated for 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Saturday.
