In a recent study conducted by university psychologists, people declared what they believed was an ideal amount of money to lead a 'comfortable life'—the result was lower than expected. Americans, however, wanted more than people in most countries.

In a recent study conducted by university psychologists at the U.K. universities of Bath, Bath Spa and Exeter, most people said that $10m was an ideal amount to lead a"comfortable life." One exception was people in the U.S.—where the majority of people that were polled said they would need at least $100m or more to lead an ideal life, with 31.7% preferring to have at least $100 billion.
