TLDR Cops: We took this job to bodyslam Black children in the cafeteria, not to get into harm’s way.

Yes he did.

Blaming him is just moving the conversation against gun control. Maybe could have done more but could he have been a super hero, there are not many of those here in human form. He was part of a solution not THE solution.

As an old Law Dog! Fact, Premise dictates the action. Peterson....

If you're hired to serve & protect within a jurisdiction, & do not, then why are you being paid for a job you refuse to do? Of course, running towards danger is scary...but that's exactly what he signed up for. He could have very well saved a few lives that were taken that day...

I think he was negligent, but I think we need to talk about civilians w/ firearms that can overpower the ones carried by security and police officers. Gunfire is loud & echoes, making it difficult to find & take down a shooter w/o getting shot first. He still should have tried.

Quite easy, Florida school already started the arming Teachers process!

And yet,the NRA and their bots (human and AI) *still* preach that school shootings would drop if there are armed staff on site. Fanatics, and those who sell to them, never let reality get in the way of their rhetoric.

Normal people do what Mr. Peterson did. Law enforcement officers aren’t normal people. They run toward things we normal people flee. If one can’t do that, if one is too normal to do that, then they should do something else. God bless those abnormal people with badges!

Yes. It's called 'Dereliction of Duty.' See also: Columbine Shooting, and Cheshire, CT House Massacre. Dereliction of Duty, all. If you are too frightened during a Worst Case Scenario killing event to do the Law Enforcement Job, Then don't take the job in the first place.

Yes he did.

Did they hire security or put cameras in? No they can’t get the guns if they do that.

But,c'mon. He was close to collecting his retirement. Can you blame him?🤣

That is a stupid question. He obviously did. What is the point of having armed security if the man/woman tasked with the job is too much of a coward to act? That is literally the only reason he was hired...

Trump report on school safety doesn't meet demands of Parkland student activistsThe Trump administration has released a report on school safety from a commission created in the wake of the high school shooting in Parkland, Florida. thought and prayers Not surprised. They did a whole dog & pony show in the Oval and didn’t do anything. Nobody chose to do anything after legislation pushed after Sandy Hook. This will keep happening until someone in government grows a conscious. So, basically, it will keep happening forever. That’s because they are ineffectual, anti constitutional demands of emotion.

Security failures in Parkland school shooting included unlocked doors, no PA systemA commission tasked with investigating the Parkland high school massacre in Florida highlighted security failures. For being a rich community you’d think they wouldn’t had basic security at the school. EIGHT deputies waiting outside, then Scott Israel held a CNN Town Hall and told everyone his department did everything they could to protect the students. And, more importantly......an insane student with an automatic weapon

Parkland school shooting panel backs arming teachers, rips responding deputiesA Florida investigative panel charged with studying the rampage that left 17 people dead at a Parkland high school last year has recommended arming teachers. This is a far right wing special kind of stupid. Get your money back on that study. Teacher's job is to teach. Not worry abt having to shoot one of her/his students. More gun control helps everyone. Total ban of some guns 100% recommended.
