The teacher, who worked in the northern Austin suburb of Pflugerville, has not been publicly identified by officials.
The Bohls Middle School teacher, drew outrage from parents and community members over a statement, captured by students on video, that he was"ethnocentric," which meant he thought his"race is the superior one," after the videos were shared on social media Friday.by Pflugerville schools but did not say whether the educator had been fired or had resigned. The district is looking for a replacement.
When students continued to ask the teacher if he was a racist, he said,"I think everybody's a racist at that level." The students reacted with shock and frustration, and a few students told the teacher they no longer respected him, according to the videos.
It’s almost as if he took an honest intellectual look at Western civilization and culture. Conquering the world, splitting the atom and the moon landing can’t compare to peanut inventions or rap music, but it is only slightly less significant 🙄
Now that is serious xenophobic commentary. Apparently the nation is not over the race issue. And to think that the civil rights act was passed in 1964.
