First responders say a male has life-threatening injuries after reports of a stabbing at a high school in Toronto’s east end.
Police say in a tweet that officers and paramedics responded to reports of a stabbing at Birchmount Park Collegiate just after 3 p.m. Constable Caroline de Kloet says officers are still inside the school and helping with the safe dismissal of students from their classrooms.Constable de Kloet could not confirm whether the person stabbed was a student at the school or if any suspects are in custody.
Toronto Paramedic Services Duty Officer Richard Shin says paramedics are currently treating the stabbed patient, who has life-threatening injuries.The reported stabbing comes two weeks after a shooting outside Woburn Collegiate Institute, another high school in the city’s east end, left one student dead and another injured.
