ANALYSIS: Children's education forgotten amid political conflict over NSW teacher shortages

Special education teacher Amy* recently quit her first full-time position due to what she says was a "ridiculously unsustainable" workload where she was expected to put in 55 to 65 hours per week.

In his foreword, he said the government's education policies had failed and the system was at "tipping point". Fellow committee members Abigail Boyd, a Greens MP, and Labor's Anthony D'Adam and Courtney Houssos, all submitted dissenting statements to their own inquiry. In her statement, Ms Boyd apologised to the education experts who gave their time to the inquiry for the "disdain" the report showed towards them.

At her press conference, Ms Mitchell said the report was inherently political and should be taken with a "grain of salt" – not because of Mr Latham's comments specifically, but because the committee was mostly made up of Labor and crossbench members.Former teacher and expert in educational psychology Helena Granziera, from the University of NSW, said one of the most important aspects of a child's life — education — had been forgotten amid the politics.

No it hasn’t- that’s whole point from the perspective of teachers - any pro- lobotomy mind could come to that conclusion in blink.

Fr Canoogan opines: all you teachers building bricks in the wall...withdraw from doing anything after hours, or extra over for the corporation...the Children actually do understand...

Is there still a BS vaccine mandates on teachers?

… and yet it is almost impossible to change career to become a teacher.

What could possibly be wrong with having three blind mice - Ms Mitchell, Georgina Harrisson and Mark Latham looking after the future of public education in NSW?

What is the deal with the headline PaigeCockburn?

Uhh, what a fucking disgusting headline, great work Aunty

I think the last couple of years showers quite clearly that no one, from government to teachers unions cares about kids education.
