Officials at CHEO are now pleading for people to wear masks indoors to curb the rapid spread of a triple threat of respiratory viruses: RSV, COVID-19 and influenza. RSV — respiratory syncytial virus — is a common virus that causes respiratory infections in adults and children, but often affects kids more severely.
“If we see a significant impact on the health system, we will be making more and more recommendations about wearing masks to cut down the risk of all these viruses that are transmitted through close personal contact as we go indoors and we’re monitoring that data very closely,” Moore said in an interview with CP24 on Oct. 19.

School boards debated this in March. Some decided to reinstate mask mandates. The govt forbade it. It is not the right of a school board to force masks on kids, nor should it be. There is zero point in “debating” this.
There are zero quality studies that say masking will keep kids out of hospital with RSV or any other respiratory disease. Just saying. Good data should drive policy not fear. We learned this recently
