The Riverview Ravens captured the Mae Kibyuk Memorial Green and Gold Hockey Tournament over the weekend, defeating the Glace Bay Panthers 3-2 at the Emera Centre Northside in North Sydney on Sunday. Front row, from left, Andrew Burke, Ryan Beaton, Matthew Burke, Curtis Fogarty, Royce Balcom, Brennan Moore, Keagan Geizer, Dillon Arsenault, Luc Sampson, Aidan Stanwick, Mitchel Kendall and Ryan MacDonald.

Josh Novak, Gahan Rector and Royce Balcom fired home goals for the Ravens, who went undefeated in the event with a perfect 5-0-0-0 record.Riverview's Andrew Burke was the winning goaltender. Glace Bay's Kristian MacKenzie was tagged with the loss. Statistics were not reported on the official game sheet.

"It was an all-around team effort from the goaltending right through to the forwards," said Moss."Everyone pulled the rope.""It came down to the last second in that game," said Moss."It's a great start to our season and hopefully we can build off it and continue to play that way." Meanwhile, the host Memorial Marauders posted a 1-2 record in the round robin with the club's only victory coming over Sydney Academy, 7-2, on Friday. The team was defeated in the quarter-finals Saturday afternoon, 5-3, by Sydney Academy.
