CUPE is looking for annual salary increases of 11.7 per cent and the government in response has offered raises of two per cent a year for workers making less than $40,000 and 1.25 per cent for all others. The government wants to institute what it’s calling a five-day “waiting period” for short-term disability during which a worker would receive 25 per cent of their normal pay and 90 per cent for the rest of the 120 days.

I hope the strike lasts all winter really embarrassing the Dougie m cheesecake pounder and his chronies. Teachers need a good raise they've been stuck below inflation for years

I imagine there are lots of people who would be willing to work for what your getting paid now, nice generous benefits and perks, it's not about any 'children' its about how much more money can be sucked from the taxpayer while threatening to strike if ya dont get what you want

yea it's all about the 'money' I mean 'children' if anyone deserves a raise it would be 'veterans, people on disability people who rely on welfare, seniors' but don't let that stop ya from saying 'it's all about the children' if ya don't like what your getting paid work elsewhere

The hardest working peoplekind in Canada.
