Reporting this as disinformation. Decline in test scores has predated COVID by decades. Moreover, there's little indicated correlation between lockdowns and test score decline.
That's because kids aren't being taught anything. Public schools are a disaster. They are not much more than indoctrination camps.

Weird. All the kids I know who weren't in public schools, but were in schools that didn't change anything (and certainly didn't close) are all doing fine. Abolish the public education system.

'COVID' did nothing to effect child test scores. COVID didn't close a single school. COVID didn't force kids to stay at home. Those were conscious, lucid decisions by politicians. Don't let them off the hook!
Meanwhile, my kids never masked or attended one online class and they are both in the 90% percentile for math. Why? Because I taught them how to memorize their times tables and figure out their own change. We did 1hr of home school a day for 2 straight years and they way ahead.

Blue state policy, in North Texas the public school my kids attend never didn't have in person classes.

We had a global pandemic. A million people died in the US alone. Of *course* kids were affected too. The question is, what is our plan to help them? The Republican plan is to vilify teachers, teaching and libraries and cut funding and resources to schools.
Not good. We need math scores 2B going up to compete w other countries technologically in the future. Federal, state, & local governments need a major focus for improvements in math. Two of my grandchildren use Khan Academy to improve their scores.
Except where I live (Florida), the test score were somewhat lower but still higher than the national average. Thanks to Governor Desantis and his level headed, scientifically based approach to schools being open.
Lets not forget about the impact of the face masks as well. Imagine being a kindergarten kid trying to develop verbal skills while you and your teachers faces are wrapped up with pointless coverings. But... Science 🤷♂️!
But at least we closed schools and kept kids from getting the sniffles.
