A bicyclist was killed early Friday in a collision with school bus filled with students just blocks from Lowell Elementary School.

San Jose police said the collision occurred at 6:51 a.m. near South 10th and Reed streets. Both Lowell Elementary School and San Jose State are located just blocks from the accident scene.

The man suffered fatal injuries in collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity of the 18-year-od was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.that the San Jose Unified School District bus was carrying 14 students at the time of the collision. No one on the bus was injured. Since a school bus was involved, the CHP will be handling the investigation.
