Why does it have to be government? If parents got together volunteering and giving up their time ,making donations etc to their school to provide meals it would be far more beneficial not just to the pupils but to the community as well. Jamie could lead that campaign.

I went into a secondary school for an exam. Walked through the hall at lunchtime. One boy had a plate with pizza, garlic bread, beans and chips. I was horrified. He smiled at me, a beaming smile, and I realised this might be his only hot meal of the day. Hope he enjoyed it.

In the USA we canceled Free Breakfast and Lunch Programs if the School won't allow Boys to play in Girls sports. Good for him, because it's eat or freeze. Oh yeah, the USA could help with the Energy costs by supplying you what you need. Yet, Our GVMT won't do that either.
