‘I’m bringing a gun to school’

Every school in the district canceled classes Monday as a result. All after-school activities, including sports, were brought to a halt. Officers with the Aberdeen Police Department worked with the district and employees of the social media platform to track down who had made the posts from the school’s account.

Thake said students who might be anxious about the threats of an attack should speak to a counselor about the issue. “We… are concerned about the mental well-being of our students and staff,” Thake said.The district did not name the juvenile, but confirmed he is not a student at any of its schools.
