“We thought that would help everybody who wants it and set them up for the day and keep them going until lunchtime.'

A secondary school in Co Fermanagh has been offering pupils free breakfast every morning as they seek to help families during the cost of living crisis.School principal Gary Kelly says it is a small gesture at a difficult time for many families due to the rising cost of living.“We do a different menu every week for them, we’ll have tea and toast every day and then we’ll maybe have scones one week or pancakes the next week,” Gary told MyFermanagh.

“The idea of it is twofold, a lot of our students would travel to school by bus and kids being kids sometimes they just run out to the bus and miss their breakfast. The Lisnaskea principal added it was important for students to be well fed in the mornings in order to be able to learn properly. “We thought that would help everybody who wants it and set them up for the day and keep them going until lunchtime.
