Stakeholders have identified gender-based violence, early marriage, environment, terrorism and banditry as factors hindering the education of the girl child.

They spoke at a one-day Netherlands-funded enlightenment campaign organised by Esteemhub International in collaboration with Accel Project, International, Labour Organisation and Niger State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in Minna.

Executive Director, Esteemhub International, Princess Doosugh Agbadu, said the essence of the gathering was to come out with sustainable solutions.In her keynote address, Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Kaltum Dauda Rufai, said the Niger government had established an agency to see to the full implementation of the Child Right Act in the state.

While pledging the ministry’s unrelenting support for issues revolving around gender, Rufai commended the non-governmental organisation and partners for the initiative.In this article
