Flights cancelled as bad weather hits school holiday rush

A number of flights were cancelled out of Sydney Airport this morning, amid strong winds.

Airservices Australia, the country's navigation service provider, said Sydney Airport may be forced to operate off just one runway if bad weather continues. In the next two to three weeks, millions of Australians will be taking to the skies for domestic and international flights.

Flights cancelled at Sydney AirportPassengers travelling out of Sydney today are being told to arrive early after bad weather caused flight cancellations at the start of the school holiday rush period. Over 40 flights were cancelled in anticipation of the bad weather. Passengers have been advised to check the status of their flight and arrive two hours prior to domestic flight departures and three hours for international services.
