Back-to-school at P.S. 145 in Upper Manhattan was once again unusual this fall — but not because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

being housed at the Park West Hotel nearby, Russo sent Juan Abreu, the parent coordinator at P.S. 145 The Bloomingdale School to the temporary shelter to help parents sign their kids up.

P.S. 145 is welcoming about 40 of the more than 1,500 migrant students enrolling in New York City public schools.Another parent, also from Venezuela, said the family was aiming to wind up in San Antonio, but landed in the Big Apple instead, and were sent to the Central Park West hotel, also less than two weeks before classes started.

“I still remember all the things my mom went through,” said Abreu, who came to the US with his mom at age 4 and shuffled between shelters until he was 11. “I just want to be that helping hand.”

Some states are not worth living in anymore…

Yeah “migrant” students righto

I was a teacher for years in the NYC public school system. However, I am no longer eligible because I am an unvxt tax paying American who doesn't speak Spanish 🤨

Are they all vaccinated for everything required? If not every American kid that hasn't been allowed in school because of that should just show up for school

gotta replace the kids whose parents had the wherewithal to get them out the heck out of NYC!

Don't they still have bilingual classrooms? I remember there was an ELA class with Spanish speaking learners.

More coming , then!!

And the brainwashing begins…

Big deal Texas does this daily

Send them back, we don’t want others forced upon us, we don’t want them.

Wonderful. Dozen more will arrive soon.

Suburbs of Illinois had a school district welcome 200 ‘migrant children’ in 2 weeks. “Dozens” is nothing
