James who grew up in he East End and a music teacher from Lanarkshire are amongst the hopefuls.

The two men will be vying for the title of Britain’s best amateur baker alongside 10 other hopefuls.

James, 25, moved to England for university, but describes himself as a “proud kilt wearer”. He loves music, horror films and board games. He learned how to bake by “burning pancakes in his mother’s kitchen” in Glasgow but says his skills have improved significantly since. Kevin started playing saxophone at the age of 14 in North Lanarkshire’s Instrumental Music Service, and went on to study at Glasgow’s RSAMD .The Great British Bake Off returns to Channel 4 on Tuesday, September 13.
