This year, I am reflecting on my own childhood experiences as I prepare my daughter for her very first day of school. But something much darker looms in the back of my mind: fear of the unspeakable.

What do you think is going on in your daughters mind? Has she seen the school shootings on the news or heard about it from other kids? I think talking to your kids is going to be very important? Kids can hide their fears from their parents talk to them.
