On Friday night, Seattle Public Schools sent out a letter to parents to warn them that the first day of school could be delayed.

Teachers are currently voting to authorize a strike as negotiations are scheduled to continue Sunday through Tuesday.There have been summerlong bargaining sessions as the current contract between teachers and the district expired on Aug. 31.

The first day of classes is scheduled to start on Sept. 7 for grades 1-12, and Sept. 12 for preschool and kindergarten students.

What the article doesn’t say is on Friday the union showed up to a scheduled bargaining session and the district did not. The district will return on Sunday after they enjoy their weekend. Now tell me who is committed to working out a deal and school starting as scheduled.

They should be ashamed all about the money they could care less about the kids. They own the politicians that allow this to happen.
