Photograph: Brendan GleesonA student who struggled in mainstream education and with the fallout of discovering her mother was a survivor of child rape, celebrated a 100 per cent distinction grade in her Leaving Certificate Applied exams, Friday.

Ms Campion, who is pursing a career in animation, said she hoped her story would give hope to others who find themselves unsuited to mainstream education that they do not have to sacrifice college or job projects. “I am feeling so happy, and this morning I was so excited not just to see my results but to see all my classmates and how they got on, and they all did really well as well.”
