Timmins teacher accused of sexually assaulting a young person under 16

TimminsToday, a sister site of SooToday, has learned that the teacher was arrested in July after the Timmins Police Service finished its investigation into an alleged sexual assault that occurred in June.

OCT spokesperson Andrew Fifield said commenting on whether a teacher is employed is outside the college's mandate. Other items that could be added to the public register are restrictions on a member's eligibility to teach by a court order such as release or bail conditions, notations of an interim suspension of a member's certificate, and an undertaking signed by a member not to teach until the matter's looked into by the investigation, fitness to practise or discipline committees.

"When the Discipline Committee reaches a decision, a notation describing that decision and any penalties imposed will be posted to the public register. A full decisions and reasons document will also be posted when ready, including redactions to protect victims and comply with any publication bans.
