What could have, should have and will be done differently at BYU has been a topic of national discussion since Duke sophomore Rachel Richardson said she was called a racial slur by a fan in the Cougars’ student section last week.

In the meantime, the debate and divide that have featured prominently in the national discourse were also present at the Smith Fieldhouse.

past the women’s soccer field, around the old chain link fence that hugs the fieldhouse, past a number of BYU officials posted along their route from the team bus, and through a back entrance to get into the venue. All the while, a police officer walked behind them to monitor things. There were other obvious security differences. The student section was pulled off the floor and placed into the upper deck seating above the court. A security guard was posted with both teams for the duration of the game. There was an additional officer roaming the arena.

She could have not lied. She should have not lied. Nothing will be done.

Unfortunately, the response by the people “standing up for BYU” has told us a lot more about who they are than the actual event at the volleyball game. This is not remotely how Jesus would act. Maybe the white-skinned blue-eyed Jesus they worship is more of a dick than real Jesus

The alleged racial heckling of Rachel Richardson serves as a cautionary tale against jumping to conclusions before gathering all the facts. The ensuing investigation has revealed that the incident almost certainly didn’t happen. Will the people who excoriated BYU apologize?

The BYU police officer said the UVU student was either playing on his cell phone or talking to the officer when the claim of the n-word was spoken. Again, where is the evidence that this happened? This article continues the false narrative. 2/

Kevinreynolds30 - I’m courious; what evidence can you point to that this is not a hoax and that BYU’s Tom Holmoe did not falsely ban a special needs student from UVU? 1/

They don't care.

How you gonna would have should have could have a fictional event, bro?
