Students suspended from exclusive Sydney private school over 'offensive' online chats

Several students have been suspended or expelled from Sydney's exclusive Knox Grammar School after "inappropriate" images and "offensive" commentary posted in a private chat room came to light.

Some of the messages expressed disdain for women, posting that "silly 'pro choicers' think women's rights matter".Other posts express a love for Adolf Hitler, prompting the Jewish Board of Deputies to invite the entire Knox cohort to meet with a Holocaust survivor. They ranged "from suspension to students leaving the school". The cost to attend Knox is $35,000 a year for year 12 students.

Child abuse and sex crimes squad commander Detective Superintendent Jayne Doherty said the specialist detectives were reviewing material provided to police.
