An elementary school teacher in Florida shared videos on TikTok showing her classroom before and after she prepared it for students.Megan's video garnered thousands of comments, many from teachers who shared similar experiences, and others who responded she should be grateful for a clean room. The wish lists are often shared on social media, frequently by celebrities with large followings, where strangers can find them and donate the supplies.
"It's so common of an experience, the time and care that educators spend before their students take their first step into the classroom to set up that learning environment in a welcoming way," said Kusler. "That work that teachers do, and that time is often overlooked."
This is GREAT compared to LA schools. Room tiles missing, mild, ceiling falling off, ants all over the place, bookshelves with NO shelves. I could go on and on.
This is a reality… every year my wife spends her own money to bring a sense of warmth to her special Ed class. To make the kids feel welcome and to get them to interact and learn the general Ed curriculum. I even do my best to donate when I can because she loves her job.
Where does all the money go? We have districts and administrators stacking fat stacks and teachers making the same wages as a Target cashier... The system is broken
