Students face another uncertain year as they prepare for the return of school.

While Education Minister Stephen Lecce has assured families that all the needed protections and supports will be in place, NDP MPP Marit Stiles said that same promise was made last year.Sign up to receive daily headline news from the Ottawa SUN, a division of Postmedia Network Inc.By clicking on the sign up button you consent to receive the above newsletter from Postmedia Network Inc. Lecce released his Plan to Catch Up last month, calling for a year of more normal learning after two years of pandemic disruptions. In addition to returning to full-time in-class learning, the province is expecting students to have access to extracurriculars like sports and trips. The minister also says there will be new tutoring supports in place to fill gaps in learning and expanded supports for student mental health.

However, the ministry is in negotiations with education unions and the people responsible for enhanced cleaning and student mental health supports could be on the picket lines as early as October.

The nuns were harsh with us, but most of us turned alright. For some kids though, the strap just made them even more delinquent. Yeah, my kids have strict instructions that if any teacher strikes them, they have my full support of hitting them back *shaking my head*

SPANKING COMEBACK: Missouri school district reinstates punishmentCASSVILLE, Mo. — A school district in southwest Missouri has decided to bring back spanking as a form of discipline for students, but only if their parents… If any teacher laid a hand on my kid. Gov't schools are prisons where people are most likely to experience the only violence they will ever experience in their lifetime. MS just codified it.
