PROVO, Utah — The Brigham Young University Athletics Department said it banned a fan from all athletic venues for shouting racial slurs during a volleyball game Friday night, and a subsequent game on Saturday was moved to a new, undisclosed location.
"Specifically, the use of a racial slur at any of our athletic events is absolutely unacceptable and BYU Athletics holds a zero-tolerance approach to this behavior," the statement read in part."We wholeheartedly apologize to Duke University and especially its student-athletes competing last night for what they experienced."Duke and BYU are playing a round-robin invitational along with Rider University and Washington State.
Name the racist that BYU supposedly banned
Not nearly enough. This was allowed for the entire match and no one stopped it! BYU racists.
After the fact and after it occurred multiple times—-unacceptable
UPDATE: Today's game between Duke and Rider University moved from BYU campus to undisclosed location following racial slurs used by fan in BYU-Duke game last night
Name them- plaster their names and pictures everywhere- this is unacceptable and it sure a hell will stop when they get called out.
Pathetic. Nobody protected the player being abused BYU did nothing DukeU teammates and coaches did nothing The other ‘fans’ around the abuser did nothing Silence supports this crap, it needs to stop
Dr_Zil_White But not until after the match. 🤦🏼🤦🏼🤦🏼🤦🏼
Nobody dealt with this non-student fan the entire match. Let it go on and on. Too little, too late in my opinion.
How long is the ban for?
Hateful bigoted cult does not tolerate racism… from non-faculty.
