Plans have been unveiled to convert a disused office block in Northampton into a new independent school for 200 children. The proposals were submitted to West Northamptonshire Council earlier in the month to repurpose the building into a school for primary and secondary students.
However, Sceptre Education say "the site is restricted in terms of size and does not allow for growth outside of what it currently caters for." Billing Road East school would be closed and pupils would be moved to the site if it is given planning approval by councillors. The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church was established in the early nineteenth century in Plymouth, southern England. It now has a community of over 50,000 members across Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Americas and UK, according to the plans.
Pupils will apparently be "taught early the benefit of being involved in charitable activity to support the community." The Brethren do a lot of charity work and contribute to the local community, including the Rapid Relief Team, the charitable arm of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church organisation.
