President Biden announced forgiveness of up to $20,000 of student debt Wednesday, making a big financial difference for millions of people around the country.
In addition to canceling student loan debt, Biden will extend the repayment pause until Dec. 31. He said this will be the last extension of the pause, which began due to the pandemic.Aside from whether or not you're eligible for loan forgiveness, for those who have made payments during the student loan payment pause, you may be able to get a refund.
The U.S. Department of Education’s Federal Student Aid website says, “You can get a refund for any payment you make during the payment pause .” If this applies to you, you can contact your loan servicer to request that your payment be refunded. The Biden administration will forgive up to $20,000 worth of student loan debt for borrowers who received Pell Grants.
People who didn't receive a Pell Grant are eligible for up to $10,000 in loan forgiveness, the president said on Twitter.

The people who disagree with student loan forgiveness also made $100,000 on average from buying their house in 2020, had PPP loans forgiven, the fed created that, and the fed created the stock market bubble - that didn’t take hard work. That is why we have high inflation.
What about the people who have already paid off their student loans? I make under $100,000 a year. Why did I have to pay my loan back, but people making the same amount of money are getting their student loans forgiven?

It is a half measure that angers the left for its cowardice but still makes the right rage. If we can bail out Wall Street and forgive PPP loans (averaging over $90,000) we can forgive 100% of student debt. idk if i can even call this a half measure, more like a 1/8 measure. cancel all existing, and hard cap interest rates permanently
