College is just another product. Yas consumer is obligated to make sound choices. buyer beware still applies. If you make a stupid choice and overpay for a car you can’t afford why should I have to bail you out? college no different. So college grad making $125k day 1 gets this?
The rates of interest is what is ridiculous. And many don’t realize it starts accruing while in school. Next question - the money will be sent directly to the lender? Or into the hands if the one with the loan? And how will that work out.
If you take out a loan for a home, car or other asset and don’t pay the loan back. The lender will take it back. If you can’t pay for your “higher” education, lenders should take them back. And make it a felony to use it on an job app!! If you don’t pay, you can’t use it!!
Some people need to understand what debt forgiveness is, you can tell who has not gone to school and paid for student loans and have no clue of the process. There are many debt forgiveness programs already on the books. This is just another one that will help at this time.
No, Where's my $10K check for paying mine off? Also.. people don't realize that this canceled debt equals income on their taxes. He's actually screwing a lot of Americans over so he be bribe them for votes. Sad
Dont support this, this is why we are here in this recesion. But not my fault.
People don't mind paying what they borrowed. The interest is usurious. I paid my loans off, but it was 20 years and I ended up paying over 2x what I borrowed because of interest from companies that bought my loan. I had no say in that, but still had to pay it. REFORM THE SYSTEM.
So, I destroyed my body and shed my blood to get my bachelor's paid for. Took and paid for my own loans for my graduate degrees. I think $10k is too small. I support a cool $50k, easy.
I get to pay for mine again and everyone else too.
My wife and I saved and worked with our kids in order for them to attend a good school and graduate without debt. Why should we be saddled with other peoples loans because they made poor choices.
No. This is so stupid. The college grads are the ones making the big bucks. They chose this debt themselves.
