The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Abuja branch, has told Nigerians that the ongoing strike will continue because the Federal

The ASUU’s branch chairman, Dr Kassim Umaru, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen at the end of its Congress, held at the University’s Mini Campus in Gwagwalada on Tuesday.

According to him, Congress deliberated on issues around the strike and vehemently pronounced and rejected the offer presented by the Federal Government, adding that the National Executive Council would meet at the end of the four weeks ultimatum to take its decision. “The federal government should tell the Nigerian public what they’ve done. The two committees that were set up, the Nimi Briggs committee, the Jubrin committee, were set up and these committees had their recommendations.”

“As far as we are concerned, our job is different from any other civil servants; it’s the job you are going back to do. You’re not paying for an hour. This government has really fail us so seriously.

I’ve already lost interest in school, so they can do whatever. Ifb

Imagine no concrete agreement after six months at home 🙄🙄

This government is the worst I've ever seen since i was born. A government that don't care about how we feel. It is only a fool that will want APC to continue to lead us. God forbid! Six months plus our Schools are still on strike. Is time to make a change!

It is absolutely debilitating for government to always reneged on its negotiations with ASUU. How do you set up a committee on your own, empower them to negotiate on your behalf and then turn around to jettison their recommendations, TWICE? This once again underscores

Another unending Abacha's loot will soon be shared, living ASSUStrikeupdate behind.

Thank u ASSU We need 5 months more U can do it, don't listen to any offer

Okay we are ready to take it 🥺 how man go do
