ICYMI on KPBS Midday Edition: Beginning this school year California law mandates middle and high schools start later to better align with young peoples' sleep patterns.

"During this time of human development, the middle schoolers and high schoolers tend to go to sleep later at night. And also the internal biological clock tells them to wake up slightly later in the morning.

"This sleep improvement also ends up in fewer car crashes in the morning. And more importantly, it improves class attendance and graduation rates. And these results have been seen in many studies in the U.S., as well as in other countries," he said.

We Need More Health Clinics at SchoolsIn-school clinics improve well-being and educational outcomes and serve children who need them most Love the idea of health clinics at schools, but I hate large schools. How do we get the same benefits in smaller learning communities? We need to rethink schools (in USA at least) completely to make them more humane and to give every child a chance to thrive in the 21st century. Should be scam instead of sciam ... If only you would have stuck to Science and left politics out of it! your bias ruins your credibility! biased politics Got PPO the right to op out of unnecessary treatment and medication that can be harmful 🛑
