School enrollment is down significantly due to many parents homeschooling, and enrolling their children in private schools.

Daniel Anello is the CEO of Kids For Chicago.

Shrinking enrollment may force some districts in places like Denver, Indianapolis, and Kansas City, Missouri to close schools entirely. The Dickinson family in Wheaton, Illinois says they were hesitant to pull their daughter out of school. "COVID has had an impact in some places, but those are those are micro impacts compared to the fact that we just as a country have a lot less babies that are growing up to be students," said Anello.

Parents are done putting up with the local teachers and school board crap. This will be the end of large public school districts.

They are not public schools, these are government schools, where the parents are treated like criminals if they ask questions about the curriculum. No surprise

Back to school, with panic buttons: The post-Uvalde scrambleMelissa Lee comforted her son and daughter after a student opened fire in their suburban Kansas City high school, wounding an administrator and a police officer stationed there. Then weeks later, she wept for the parents in Uvalde, Texas, who were forced to bury their children after the massacre there in May. She said she was “absolutely” reassured when she learned her district had since purchased one of the panic-alert systems gaining traction nationwide amid a surge in school violence that includes shootings and fights. The technology, featuring wearable panic buttons or mobile phone apps, enables teachers to notify each other and police in the event of an emergency. That’s cool. Stricter gun control would be cooler. Imagine children and parents not having to fear going to school. Not sure a panic button is going to do any good if police don't actually respond to it. Great idea!👍
