BREAKING Philadelphia school employees vote to authorize strike

"We worked through COVID, everyone considered us a hero. Currently in negotiations and no one remembers that," said John Bynum, district leader for Local 32BJ of SEIU. "We are just negotiating for a fair contract. I can't answer for why the district isn't listening."The jobs range from bus drivers, mechanics, cleaners, trade workers and attendants."Our scale is totally down across the board, we're underpaid.

In a news release, union reps said negotiations for new contracts have stalled over fair pay and standardized training programs that workers need to safely do their jobs and keep school students, teachers, and staff safe."We deeply value the work of our staff who are represented by 32BJ SEIU District 1201.

LOL...LOL...LOL Great to hear. The city is losing money every second. Philly has the largest percentage of poverty for any big city. You want to strike? You had better demand better leadership in the city. You are hurting everyone if you don't.

Pay teachers.

Columbus City School Board and teachers union fail to reach agreement on new contractCEA will meet Sunday at 6:30 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center to vote on whether to officially initiate a strike. Teachers requests were to vague and were impossible to be met. Columbus Public should be ashamed. They continue to bloat the administrative ranks and refuse to fix the facilities. The last group of people on the planet who need a union are teachers. No one working for any government, at any level, anywhere, should be represented by a union. It's time to decertify public employee unions and kick them to the curb.
